~5min gameplay of @antonkudin‘s MegaSphere. Quite possibly the most enjoyable, entertaining, and time-sucking game I’ve played so far. MegaSphere is a 2d side-scrolling rogue-like shooter with bullet-hell, metroidvania, and sci-fi horror elements all wrapped up into one little gritty cyberpunk explosive package of fun. Some parts of the game are still being fleshed out, but the current weapons system allows for dozens – if not more, of ridiculous combinations. An RPG with a reflection upgrade may not be the *best* combo, but it’s still fucking awesome (admittedly, it’s lead to my death numerous times.) Laser-bow shotgun shooting arrows that explode when enemies get close? Yeah. Gravity gun that lets you tear down walls and hurl chunks of metal at baddies? Got that too. Flamethrowers with homing flames? You fucking bet.
I highly recommend picking this just recently greenlit game up on Steam if you’re looking for a challenging, addictive, gorgeously pixelated sci-fi shooter, because it’s only gonna get better.
